HI: Well I have found out that I am a bass head. On no. LOL

Anyway what headphones do you think are great for us bass heads?

I first thought the portapro and portapro2 had great bass a little bloated but fun none the less.

I also think the senn. 590 had great bass with a amp. Very fun sounding

I now have my best bass phone for bass so far the beyer pro 770-80. Great awesome bass but with a strong amp. And this goes beyond fun to wow this is just great sounding.

I just realized that I really like great bass and am now proud to say yes I am a bass head!

So what other headphones have this great bass sound?

Now I have owned a lot of headphones and out of them all only the three that I mention for me have this great bass sound.

I guess I just would not admit that I was a bass head and how could I with most of the headphones that I have had?

It took the pro 770-80 to break me down and say wow what bass and I really like it.

I can't wait to get mine now... they're about 2 weeks away I think. I love being on the FOTH bandwagon

my hd-280 pros have quite excellent bass but thats partly because i have them EQ'd up that way since i just use them for hip hop/techno. the thing is, even with the EQ bump they really handle it and keep it under control and CLEAN. i think its neccecary for these to be set up like that because the amount of bass they can produce can be quite shocking honestly. as i said they can handle it and not get sloppy or smeared sounding unlike the other headphones i have tried that with.

Seriously though, I like the KSC50s that I got, that albeit somewhat honky in the treble and midbass, sound really good, surprisingly. I love them. Although not as bass heavy as the DT770s and a bit thin at times, I would highly recommend them for portable cans where isolation isn't necessary.

My DT531's have great bass as well as a great midrange, but so they should have since I have given them 4-6 db boost in the bass and 2-4 db boost in the mids with Foobar EQ.

I know what you mean Ltucci, it is very satifying to hear great bass, but I am done buying headphones to get it when an EQ provides just as effective a service IMHO. This way I get to keep the comfort of these cans and tailor the sound to my needs whenever. I really dont know why there is an "anti-EQ" obsession amongst audiophiles.

EQ down the treble a bit and add air conditioning (wearing them now and they're pretty warm) and they'd be fantastic headphones

Apparently there is a difference in the midrange between the dt770/80 and dt770/250. The 770/80 supposedly has better midrange.

other basshead phones to take note of :- sennheiser hd25-1...
supposed to be the 'premier' dj cans...have not auditioned one yet personally.... i have a pioneer hdj1000..but it is NOT recommended...it clamps my head too tight, and the sound..causes too much fatigue..forced to use it since i splurged aud250 on it
