Sound in the System Shock Remake

I'm actually kind of surprised that I haven't seen this here yet.  For those unaware, Nightdive Studios managed to grab the rights to the System Shock IP(for those unaware of what that is, it's the 90s predecessor to the Bioshock series), and the sound designer/composer, Jonathon Peros, has been experimenting for the remake.  In the February update, he posted this video showing how he's working with an old surround format called ambisonics to make the ambient sound feel more realistic.  I'm kind of curious to see how that turns out.
 
He's also apparently going with a lot of analog synths in his recording of the soundtrack, and you can see a bit of his setup here:
