Hi, I'm new here and new to wide world of Headphones and would like some help choosing a new pair. I have a limited budget as amongst all the important stuff I have to pay these next few months I have a spare £100 which I have decided to spend on a new pair.

As I said I'm fairly new to the headphone/audio world so not 100% about all the lingo and exactly what I am after. Here is my view on the sound I enjoy (I think!). I enjoy a slightly more bassy sound but not overkill. I think I like what I have read as a V shape sound, but as I have no massive reference points I could be wrong.

My current Headphones:
Klipsch Image One
Klipsch Image One 2
AKG K519
B&O Play H2
Ted Baker Rockall

From these I would say that the Klipsch Image One are my favorite followed by the B&O H2 then the AKG. The Klipsch Image One 2 seemed a little to bassy and the Ted Baker ones are ok but far to tight for my head so tend not to use them much.

So I have a little shortlist of Headphones that are within my budget and available on amazon.co.uk (I have a voucher so need to buy from amazon) and these are:
Sony MDR-1A
Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro Plue
Sennheiser Urbanite XL
Audio Techinca M40X

Any opinions?

Thanks

Ian

Yeah thanks but I don't like either. My Budget may have restricted me in past, and now to consumer level BASS headphones but what you mentioned is neither helpful or in line with my question. If you don't like the suggestions that I have stated try giving me a genuine answer. I have only stated these due to budget and Zeos recommend list no need to look down on me for that.

I like the M40X a lot but it is probably more neutralish than v-shaped, IMHO. I would say the M30X and the M50X are the two that are really more v-shaped.--of the three, FWIW. I wonder if you should maybe add the DT770 to your list also. It has both a bass emphasis and a treble emphasis. Depending on which one you got, you may need an amp. Not necessary for the DT770i, though, the 16 ohm version. Just a thought. Haven't heard the COP Plus and it's been too long since hearing the MDR-1A. The Urbanite is good--nice bass foundation for the music. Some thoughts for you.

Thanks. I did look at the DT770 but was unsure about the difference impedance and whether the 250 would be better than the 16, but this would then require an amp which requires a whole new lot of research.

Update: After some consideration I think I am leaning towards the Audio Technica m40x, Beyerdynamic Dt770 80ohm, Status Audio CB-1 or I have recently found Massdrop and although it is American and would require thought about import fees and such to get to the UK; the Hifiman 350s from Massdrop, but I have read reviews saying the highs are murderous, but then some people saying they calm down with pads and burn it, is this correct?

Note: I don't have the budget as of right now to buy an amp and/or DAC, but I am not adverse to buying one in the future, therefore the Headphones would need to be at least listenable without, with the possibility to scale when I manage to get one.

Any thoughts on my new short list?
