Hi all,

I would like to get a new DAC (no amp) -- a good bang for the buck.

My Setup now:
Asus Zenbook (Tidal, Spotify, High Res from Qobuz) > Audioquest Cinnamon (USB to mini USB) > Fiio X5 III (line Out) > Audioquest Tower > Little Dot1+ > DT770 Pro 32 or Grado Sr60

What I am looking for
I like the tupe sound of my amp. I also like the musical and warm signature of the Fiio. Together with the DT770 a good match.

Why do I want to change anything?
1) I do not want to plug/unplug my Fiio all the time
2) I do notice some slight EMI. My guess is that it is from the USB and Laptop. May also be the RC of the Little Dot.

Anything else?
Although I like the warm sound of the AKM, I would also like to try the Sabres, but not a must. As far as I understood even with a neutral and linear DAC I will get a warmer sound by the tubes? Im I correct here?
Only Headphones. But I might fall for some nice Monitor-Boxes soon. So if there was an out to drive Boxes, why not.

What I do not need
Too clinical digital sound, Pure digital chain.
It does not have to be a portabel solution. Anything close to portable is ok.
An HP amp. I got one.

What I have been looking at so far:
Schiit Modi 2 (uber)
Hifimediy Sabre (different versions on http://hifimediy.com/DACs/ready-made-dacs)
JDS Labs STANDALONE ODAC REV B
Mojo, for sure.

I also read about Gustard A20h; way above others for the price. But so much to offer. So why not thinking big :-) ? I know then I should get some better HP.

Any other ideas? What do you recommend?

Thanks y'all.

My bifrost Uber is virtually indistinguishable from the v850 dac @ $1600, so the bifrost uber (or likely the multibit upgrade) is really nice. Sounds flawless.
