Hey guys so I'm starting a new job that's going to require me to travel on a bus and possibly subway. As far as in-ears are concerned, I own the Klipsch S4 and Bose IEM2. The Bose doesn't block any noise and sounds like, well..horrible. The S4 sound great for their price, but I'm looking for a different fit. For example I tried the Westone W80 and loved how they fit with the in-ear piece that you squish down that expands to your ear canal, blocking noise and making them super comfy. Also, having them wrap around my ear the way those did felt great.

Getting to the point, I'm looking for a IEM that has a similar sound signature to the LCD-2s. Pronounced bass, clear mids, and rolled off highs. I want it to fit just like the Westone did. I'd like to spend ~$100 but I'm willing to spend more if necessary. Though, I don't want to spend too much because I don't want to baby them, I want to throw them into a pocket and not worry about it.

I was leaning towards the Shure SE215 but I heard some mixed reviews on those.

If you guys can point me in the right direction that would be great. Thank you!

If you want isolation/noise reduction, look into Etymotic Research (ER)   as far as fit, comfort and sound, that is all subjective.

But, I believe it can be objectively stated, ER offerss non custom products with the greatest isolation.

Happy hunting

You might also check out the RHA MA750, which isolates quite well and is over-ear. Whether it's a better option than the Shure is of course subjective and a person-to-person thing. The GR07 (Standard or Bass Edition (BE)) might have some of the sound signature you are seeking but whether it will have the fit is anybody's guess. I suspect the only thing that is going to feel like the Westone is the Westone. --)

Save up and spend $200 on the Fender FXA-2, which AFAIK is the Aurisonics Kicker after they were bought by the guitar company to be their IEM unit. Look up reviews on the Kicker as there are more of them around.
