Hello everyone,
I've been using my DT 990 Pro 250 Ohms for a couple years now. The cans sound great with my Schiit Vali / Modi stack when listening to music / gaming on my PC, but get pretty uncomfortable after an hour or so of use. I can feel the cups irritating my ears and digging into my jaw bone a little bit. My previous cans were the ATH-AD700 (the older ones with the purple honeycombs) and were extremely comfortable. I'm thinking of going back but seeing mixed reviews about the comfort level of the new revisions (both the 700x & 900x models).
I think it's time for an upgrade and I was wondering if there's anything else in the sub $200 range that's more comfortable than the DT 990s or as comfortable as the original ATH-AD700s? As mentioned, primarily use the PC cans for gaming & streaming music, for which I mainly use SoundCloud these days for electronic, classical and jazz. Nothing super bass heavy.
