Surprise just arrived! 
Original tips on the earpieces came destroyed already in the package ;(
BUT the worst thing - just pulled out the cable to make a photo without it and it looks like without even trying them - I have to send them back.
Nice one 64 Audio
There is just the small amount of glue to hold the sockets? Ehm..

Nothing like good ole' Plastics1 cable to come stock with a 3.5 grand USD iem...
Really...putting aside the workmanship of the first consumer tia to hit headfi (which I sincerely believe is a one off thing).....can't they at least bundle a better cable to go with it?

Actually I do believe this cable is way different than all other previously bundled cables with all 64 Audio products before.
It is way thicker and looks more 'PRO'
.. just that oversized L 3.5mm plug seems weird.
Wow... I have to say from the pictures the U18 really looks ugly and cheap looking... I hope that's not the case in real life considering that insane pricing for something that looks like that...

Man you got some bad luck. I remember you also had issues with one of your Laylas. Hope they fix that stuff quick, cause I'd really be hurting if I had just dropped 3K on a pair of IEMs and they showed up like that. But I actually like the new design though.

John, you are a well known DJ, thus only need one earpiece anyway during your EDM show performances
But yeah, sorry for a bad luck, man.

Actually they are very well made. It is hard to judge from the low quality photos I did with my phone
They feel very solid and sturdy, as the whole piece is metal. I do believe this socket fault was just one case and bad luck for me.
Yes that was very similar story. I got one of the first Laylas in carbon fiber and they came with cracks on it. Also the provided case was mistakenly with Roxanne print on it. Haha seems I'm mostly in bad luck with those 'early after announcement' TOTL purchases

I used BF upgrade program.
Sound is so great, Powerfull, Clarity, sound stage is more wide.
like an open unit headphone.
Is that how much money you have left after paying for the IEM?
