Hi Guys,

long time reader, first time poster.   IF YOU FIND THIS TLDR I HAVE HIGHLIGHTED MOST OF THE 'DOT POINTS'.  < Not shouting, the caps lock button wanted a turn.
I've been reading this forum on and off for a few years and it's helped me out of the cheap phones rut I found myself in.

I read a heap of reviews and opinions on here about a bunch of different IEM's along with closed over-ears a few years back and eventually took the plunge into higher priced (compared to stock) headphones.  I got myself a set of FXT-90's which I quite enjoyed, but one of the cables has broken internally just above the Y split, thus killing the right channel.

I've been looking to replace these with something of the same vein, but would also like to upgrade somewhat as there were a few things I think they were a little short on.

What I listen to: is quite broad, so here's a list of what tends to pop up at random from day to day, Keep in mind, I will omit a few.

Heavy/Thrash/Speed/Black etc. Metal.  Black Sabbath, Metallica, Lamb of God, In Flames, Lost Society, Testament, Evile, Meshuggar, Arch Enemy, Once Human, Type -O ......
Jazz - 1920's - 1970's.    pretty much anything 'rag time' 'swing'... the stuff you expect to hear from those eras.. a little less of the 'experimental' side, but still partial.
Classical.   Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Wagner, Bach, Rachmaninoff.... etc.
Opera.  Pavarotti, Domingo, Bocelli, Sutherland, Callas, etc.
Easy listening/Rock/Classic Rock/Grunge.  The Beatles, The Eagles, Buddy Holly, Slade, ZZ Top, Kiss, Midnight Oil, Motley Crue. Alice In Chains, Nirvana. etc.
Blues/Motown/Soul (not the modern 'soul') back when it had a .......... Soul.   pretty much all of it...
The odd BASS tracks, some Dubstep, but mostly 90's Tech sorta stuff.
The list goes on.
As you can tell, quite a wide range of music, most of which plays at random..

My general source: (90% listening) is a Samsung Galaxy S7, stock, no rooting.  I won't be using or getting an amp, unless my Multi-FX pedal counts.

Now, what I am looking for (A):
Either another IEM, or a closed over ear headphone either way, something that will play nice with pretty much everything in the above list, low-ish impedance as it will need to be portable mostly used on the daily commute, and for those times in the office when the other peas fall for the sound of their own voice. Must have on par/ better than FXT-90's isolation.  I would also like to use these as a substitute for my quad stack guitar amp, so the wife doesn't tear me a new one.. but this can wait, I guess.
Also note that I have dumbo ears according to 'over-ear' specs... roughly 80mm tall x 40mm wide, which has made it near impossible to find something to fit.
(B):
The Sound sig on the FXT-90's was quite nice, although I felt it could have had some tighter bass, with a little more depth and kick in both the bass and sub bass (I don't think I'm a 'bass-head' as such, but I won't turn down teeth rattling bass if the rest of the range isn't lost).  I'm not sure if it was the source, or the phones, but there was on the rare occasion a little too much harshness in the highs, the odd moment I launched for the volume.  I also didn't mind the V shape they had, but also wouldn't mind a little more mid, as long as it's not the main focus.

What I have looked at recently has been:  The FXT-100/200/200LTD/ FXZ-200. but the more I read, the more I don't know which way to go...
I have also looked at the ATH-M50x's, which would have been alright if my ears weren't so big, and if the impedance wasn't as high as it is. (I'm guessing it's a full-size headphone thing: <32 Ohm) - From what I head of these, I didn't mind them, but I couldn't get them loud enough to know what they were capable of.  (Galaxy S7 is rather quiet

)
ATH-IM70, Although they'd want to be a damned sight better than the FXT-90's for me to have that colour.
ATH-E40, I don't mind the design, but, reading doesn't tell you what the sound feels like.
I find it rather hard to audition in Melbourne as most places don't have much on Demo and you can forget about demoing IEM's in Aus... too grotty apparently.

My Budget:
Is currently $200 AUD ($147.19USD) as at time of posting this...  which makes what I'm looking for sound like a hens tooth, but I'm sure there's something out there that would fit the bill.

Bonus TLDR: FXT-90's were nice - now broken - want same-ish but better (read above, hahaha) - Portable - $200 AUD - Go.

Thanks and regards,
