It's not necessary. In fact it's possible to achieve better performance with different designs... This is just a marketing play.

As mentioned above. Marketing speak, with little or no improvement in sound quality IMHO.

Anything higher and it would seem like an infomercial, anything lower and they wouldn't ship as many units.
