Sennheiser GSX 1000 / 1200 Impressions

You're are a bit wrong with that statement that closed back headphones do not work with surround sound emulation. If anything, it helps them, even if it's a little boost in soundstage. The CALs for example can take advantage of surround sound emulation very well even though its a closed back headphone but it's sound stage increases and the mids somehow are a bit more noticeable as well.

Same goes for my closed Sony Z1r and Z7. And if I remember correctly for all my closed cans that I had. Most of the time since 2003 I had either creative or Asus surround cards external or internal.

Guys, I move from notebook to custom made PC and now have strange static noice that even sound when sound lvl is 0. I try to use very good usb cable and no luck. Also I try diffrent ports such as USB 2.0 and 3.0, no luck. Any one have something like that with this soundcard?

Try putting the GSX onto its own USB hub away from other connected devices like mice keyboard etc and USB 2.0 only

Before you go buying a new headphone, you should work on the GSX1000 performance. If it sounds muffled with the headset that you have, it will not sound better with a different can. How does the headset sound connected to any other sound device, like DAP or even your cellphone? If it sounds better than with the GSX1000, then the can is not the problem.

I think my formulation have been wrong. I will try to describe the sound again. Its like all the sounds fade over to one and another, so its very imprecise and unclear. Hope you understand :)

But that also means that a different can is no solution for your problem.

It might been answered before, but what can I do if I have Beyerdynamic DT990 Premium 600 Ohms and I want to use this device instead the ZXR or Asus Xonar Phoebus ?

I don't have stand-alone amplifier  and I really want the best surround.

How is it possible to make ?

Thanks

The 600 ohm of the DT990 is too much for the GSX1000. See if you can shoot for the DT1990 instead. I have it, it works like charm on medium volume. And the dynamics are also quite good. It's lesser hassle than double amping with an additional headamp.

ha. what would you think to compare with the asus dlx raid i just ordered it to replace my ZXR .. it is used and very cheap like 160$ instead 230$. would you say it's better than ZXR and GX1000?
because I really liked the sound of the Asus xonar phoebus.

I just upgraded to AMD R7 on Asus Crosshair VI. I will use either my Xonar STX or the GSX. The Asus Sonic whatever did not sound good at all as I tested it on an external Asus soundcard. I prefer Dolby Headphone the Creative stuff or the GSX.

My latest try of the Sonic Studio surround is like 4 years ago. And it was not pleasant at all. But hey, maybe things got better. You need to try and compare yourself.

Same 42 hours in EA and 35 hours of Beta gameplay the sound is great for me. CSGO I have played around maybe 200 hours with the GSX out of my 4000 hours the rest was using stereo so I have a great experience beforehand.

Works well in PUB-G for me too and will only get better when they fix the sounds which is coming in tomorrows patch. I think the game just uses straight stereo sound as there are no mix options.
