If anyone was able to download it and can share a better link it would be appreciated.

Version from Baidu FW+update tool.

Thanks.  I was able to download that one as well but it didn't work for me.  Not sure why since I've never had issues with the update tool.

are you on a version 3.0.X already?, if not, you have to follow the instructions given with the tool.(i know they're not in english, basically, turn X7 off, hold volume up, connect to PC, install drivers that are in the zip, run the exe, and click whatever button the instructions tell you to)

thanks man!

I will see if i can extract the OTA from the image for those who already upgraded to fw3.0.X, post it here. While technically possible, it would require a lot of work. sorry.

Updating now, seems to be working fine will se if it will finish in few minutes :D. Try using update tool from previous beta with update.img from 3.0.10 if you have problems

yes I'm on 3.0.9.  I've used the tool several times now so I'm aware of how to use it.  Just not sure why it won't work.

Are you sure the whole thing downloaded? If it stopped downloading part way through then you will receive an error if you try opening the zipped folder on your computer.

upgraded successfully, using RkFlashKit on Linux. (had to split the update.img, using something called 'RK3066_IMG_Mod_Tool' (windows), i'm sure there's similar software for Linux.(EDIT: this might be it: http://muzso.hu/2012/08/10/how-to-pack-and-unpack-system.img-and-userdata.img-from-an-android-factory-image )
Had to re-do, as it somehow made my device wonky (upgraded parts, but not everything) This time on windows, with a tool called 'AndroidTool v2.3', as the FiiO tool failed for me (possibly because I was already on v3.0.10b)

Now to the things I noticed so far: (in green the positive things, red the negative)

Text still appears wrong(only on .m3u8 playlists it seems right):

Scanning went fast for all my 5838 tracks.

Long titles scroll nicely

Nice new theme!

regarding list order:
on 'track' screen, order is 0 - 9, A - Z  (but only checks first 2 characters)
on 'artist' screen I can not test, I have no artists starting with anything but letters.
on 'album' screen, order is A - Z, 0 - 9 (only checks first 2 characters)
on 'genre' screen, order is A - Z, 0 - 9  (only checks first 3 characters)
on 'folder' screen, unsure if 0 - 9, A - Z,  or A - Z, 0 - 9,  is used. the way it is ordered is perfect though. '1977 - heroes' comes before '1977 - Low', meaning that not just the first two characters, but at least 8 characters are being ordered.

gapless playback:
there is sadly still no gapless playback.

play through folder:
it 'works', but goes to a random album it seems.

DAC:
I tested this only on Trisquel, as this is my main OS. if something works on Trisquel, it should be made possible to work on any other linux distro, as Trisquel runs on 100% FOSS.
First tested with a 16bit flac file, with 1212kbps of data. no issues.
Then tested with a 24bit flac file, with 1342kbps of data. crashed again.
The shutter sound, which made the X7 crash on fw3.0.9b, doesn't make it crash on fw3.0.10b. And now it crashes the DAC again, after re-updating.
I noticed no lag when playing a video. (if said video did not have a 24bit audio stream)

I do not comment on sound signature, I've seen the harm it does, and I don't have the tools to measure that objectively, scientifically, factually. I have one request though, can someone check to see if DAC output is now downsampled, or if i'm losing my mind?

On the FiiO forum, they speak of a theme for the music app being available in Settings. I could not find this. The theme has changed a bit since 3.0.9b.

The theme is there, just go to the settings in FiiO Music (cogwheel in the top left), click on Theme - the app will restart with the new theme

It seems something went wrong during upgrade. I'll do a system reset.
