Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

I just picked up my LyxPro HAS-30 and well, the sound is really great BUT there is a major channel imbalance on my pair.. The right headphone is much louder than the left. :frowning2:

So now I am in between having to adjust balance each time I switch to these headphones or sending them back to Amazon UK from Sweden which I feel is kinda much work for the low price..

Send it back

Really sorry to hear that. Have you tried switching cables (my LyxPro HAS-30 came w/1 X straight cable & 1 X coiled). If the imbalance happens w/both cables, it's a defect in the wiring of the headphones.

If you switched cables and the problem persists, my advice is to return them. Trying to live w/something like that will make you crazy.

I've had 3 pairs of these ISK clones (2 X Marantz MPH-2; 1 X LyxPro HAS-30). Luckily for me, all were perfect, and they all sounded identical.

But this happens...it happened w/my 1st pair of Yenona Adapter Free headphones (left channel blinked out). Returned them, got a new pair (which were/are fine).

Yes, the Marantz does look nicer IMO than the LyxPro HAS-20 (had them both & could compare).

(they sounded exactly the same)

I didn't care about the accessories--add'l coiled cable & a travel case. So it was the Marantz for me.

Gave my LyxPro's to a friend, who really likes them. He had been listening to an ancient pair of entry level Grado's...had no idea headphones could sound like the LyxPro's, or be as comfortable.

Good luck w/your return...

I'm really interested in that comparison...

HAHAHA!

I'm in the same boat. Just got an endgame pair of headphones 2-3 days ago. Theyre totally keepers...but now I'm looking at my 3 other headphones w/suspicion.

(that's not even considering the 2 others I have F.S. here)

I'm on the edge of that "something's gotta give" mindset.

Which ones?

Which ones?

ZMF Omni/Ori. Far & away the best sound I've ever heard from headphones. These planars have a very different sound vs dynamics...nuanced, calm, yet w/amazing bass & dynamics (hard to describe).

And the wood earcups are just beautiful (ormosia henryi wood, aka yellow rosewood).

Oh, that's endgame for sure. Unfortunately I can't really seem to find some good planars in Europe, shipping from overseas is out of the question with stuff like that.

Got the LyxPro, the bass is way too much out of the box. It does bleed in the midrange and it sounds muddy

This is in the first 20minutes of test, I've gotta go now. I'll try more tomorrow so I can A/B with the B8

I will let them burn-in in the meantime

I personally own and use Takstar TS-671 which i'm very satisfied with. I also have Beyerdynamic DT880 Pro 250 ohm, AKG K701, Shure SRH 940 and Sony SA5000. TS-671 is the most neutral, the most revealing of them all which is very surprising for a relatively unknown brand. They also have the largest, widest soundstage of them all(even K701). They, however, lost slightly in dynamic response in comparison with DT880 and also lost slightly in instrument separation against K701. But it's only very slightly. If the Beyer and AKG is the 100% standard, the Takstar is 87% there. I bet that if i live in a world where i have not known and used the other headphones i have mentioned before i get TS-671, i will most likely stick with the Takstar and wouldn't care about them.

Too bad that Takstar's distribution is fairly limited in my country so i can't recommend them enough.
