If you build it, they will come.
That's not the issue...Zach wants to get it RIGHT. He's somewhat of a perfectionist, methinks.

Amp of dreams. lol!
Someday I hope it will emerge from the stalks of corn, errrr, crap can't think of a good "audio" version of cornfields. Ok I'll stop.

I now have enough cash saved for my new amp.
Now, the next penny saved with be going in a fund for the Atticus
What amp are you going with for the Atticus?
I've been pretty set on grabbing a Decware CSP3 but just a bit worried that the combination will be too much. The Atticus seems to be a bit picky.
I've heard some very positive impressions of the prototype so it sounds like he's not far off.
Yes, I certainly agree with the opinion that the notion of needing balanced, or balanced inherently being superior is rubbish. If you need the extra power, fantastic, use balanced, but as has been suggested already, the need for that level of power if anything is diminishing not increasing. I would also suggest that nobody is hearing the reported noise artifacts from unbalanced amplification, nobody. Those differences are measureable, but nonetheless extremely tiny and factor in attempting to discriminate these differences while music is playing. Just an opinion of course. Until we see robust properly conducted experiments demonstrating our ability to differentiate a balanced from unbalanced signal, I say save your money and enjoy your current gear. I fully acknowledge this view is not universal. My apology if I re-start another OT debate, hopefully not.
After I get my Hugo2 I might end up picking up a Blackwood for electronic music.
Hi Daemon.
My new amp will be an EL3N amp made by 2359Glenn.
I have an OTL amp made by Glenn and it is wonderful, so I am much looking forward to hearing this new creation.
I would think a Decware OTL amp would be wonderful with the Atticus.
Thanks, I've heard Glenn makes really nice sounding stuff. What is the wait time on that one?
Zach,
What's current wait time on these phones? Very interested and probably will order when my liquid fire sells. Thanks
