Very interested in this, currently looking to get my first DAP (after listening to several different ones at CanJam, although didn't have time to listen to any Shanling ones), and curious to know if anyone has any thoughts as to how it would pair up with an Oppo HA-2?

Just copied that from the canjam thread.

Biggest welcome surprise for me is that it uses a touchscreen! I guess that answers any speculation on how it's operated with the wheel and side buttons as someone did think that perhaps without the touchscreen, the power button acted as a "enter" button and with a long press would act as a power button.

Sorry to clarify that Shanling M1 is without a touch screen. The control will be by the scrolling wheel and the side buttons.

Maybe @jonnyt211 was much too excited to have seen the beautiful and delicate body, and it indeed looks like an Apple Watch.

Thanks guys.

Are you still on target with the release including USA release?

Shanling posted some new pics (not computer renderings) of the M1 here (erji.net)

Also a USB-C-to-micro USB will be included (confirmed in the same thread mentioned above). @Shanling what's the length of the cable?

There you go, images taken from erji.net according to the caption at the bottom!  Looks really good.  May finally be a clip plus successor.

I was going to buy a Fiio X3 Second GEN but I think I will hold off and wait for this one to make its way to the United States so going to buy this.

Ok, I am glad i found this thread. Was looking to re-buy a Fiio X3ii (long story) and then saw the M2 but now the M1 really looks great. I love the size. I have the Plenue D and it is great form factor. I'm a sucker for the small footprints with really good quality sound. I will have to wait until this becomes available. Maybe cheap enough to get M1 and an M2? Boy, I thought I was done with portable stuff...

This looks perfect as a mojo transport. What's the catch?

1) It has digital out, okay, but maybe it's a lousy out? Some sort of quality issues (there can be noise issues with USB outs)

2) It's so small it's hard to use rubber bands for stacking it without totally obscuring the screen. Plus the scroll wheel can get unreachable...

But at this price, I'm willing to experiment.
