So my girlfriend’s birthday is coming up the 18th and I need your help pretty quickly! She’s in need of a good pair of iem with mic (since she constantly keeps borrowing mine, even though they suck hehe).
*Max price 150 eur
*Microphone
*Good build quality
*Comfortable since she will be using them all the time at work
*Tangle free cable (big plus since I end up untangling the headphones all the time...)

So after browsing the forums for the past couple of days it’s boiled downed to:
*RHA ma750i
*Beyerdynamic-idx-160
*Sennheiser Momentum
*Philips Fidelio S2 – these seem to be open which can be distracting to others at her work
*AKG n20 – Can’t find alot info/reviews about these however what I can find sounds very promising
*Klipsch x7i
*Etymotic HF 3 - Afraid that these will not sound as good as they should since she mostly listens to stuff on soundcloud?

Do you guys have any other recommendations? She currently has a pair of Beyerdynamic dt770 for producing and she loves the sound of those, she also enjoys the sound of my Sennheiser hd25 albeit not as much, furthermore she listens mostly to electronic music (house and techno)

Drop any open headphones/IEMs. Even IEMs can leak quite a bit if they're open.

That being said, if she's not an audiophile(or can appreciate flat sound sig), drop the HF3. Many regular consumers I've met don't like Etys. I love them myself, but most people like boosted bass. MA750i is certainly very recommendable. I would go for the older Klipsch X10i instead of the x7i(last time I checked, x10 were very cheap on Amazon) They're very very comfy. I don't recommend the Momentum for comfort use, as I found them tad bit small to be over ears(I'm talking about the regular version, not the on ear version) and was a bit uncomfortable for long listening sessions. Haven't tried the Beyers or the AKGs you've mentioned, so can't help you on that one.

What kind of sound does she like?

I would personally choose between X10i or MA750i. X10i for comfort and isolation, and MA750i for a better build quality(not that x10s aren't built well). I also find X10's sound to be more laid back and suitable for longer listening, but ymmv.

Thanks for the reply!

She is in fact an audiophile and appriciates flat sound signature since shes producing quite a bit of music but seeing as she will be using these headphones with her iphone while mostly listening to soundcloud I'm afraid the HF3 will tear her ears apart if the bitrate isnt the best? She also likes a more dynamic sound seeing as she listens mostly to techno and house so a tad more bass wouldnt hurt. She loves the sound of her Beyerdynamic dt770 if that helps.

Will try to find the Klipsch X10 and see if I can give them a listen to togheter with the MA750i here in Sweden, I've also been eying the Shure SE215..Hmm though choice.

Eh, it won't tear her ears apart. I've used ER4 with 320k MP3s and can barely tell them apart from Flac(I actually think I can't). But if you listens to techno and house, HF3 would be a meh. Get the SE215 SPE if you've been eying the SE215. It has slightly more bass and is a bit more suitable for bassy music(not that SE215s weren't bassy). SE215s are also very comfortable too(had them for about a year).

Ok thanks! Anyway settled for thr RHA 750i, lets just hope she wont hate the over the ear design.

Over the ear design is really a hit or miss. Many people love it, but there are few that really can't handle them. Fingers crossed it works out for her.

After 3 weeks of struggeling to get a good fit the over the ear design is a super miss.

I'm gonna keep these for myself and get her another pair (non over the ear)...

Suggestions? She loved the sound and everything and around the same price.

They're supposedly hard to beat in terms of bang-for-buck, so tough call. Things that come to mind (mind you, I haven't personally heard quite a few of these so do your own research):
- V-Moda ZN (though slightly above budget these things are indestructible and, though not as detailed as some others, their sound is forgiving and fun and not enitirely different from the rather dark sound of a dt770)
- The Crescendo DS11 I've had for quite a while was pretty great too, though not big on bass. It's basically an ACS T15
- The Sony XBA-H2 might be slightly too expensive, but IMHO it's worth it

If she can do without a mic, perhaps:
- Yamaha EPH-100
- VSonic GR07 and probably get the bass edition
- Trinity Delta Hybrid

Check out DUNU and Audio technica (if she's into hard, super solid bass with slightly bright highs) too. Not sure what they have with mics in this price bracket on though.

Personally I liked the sound of the Philips Fidelio S2. I did not check how much they leak though inward isolation was not anywhere near good. Sennheiser momentum in-ears are not my cup of tea - they sound like a mix between the JBL and RHA house sounds to me. A lot of people like them though. Haven't heard the beyers nor the AKG you cited, but they usually provide good quality. Klipsch knows its stuff and I think their sound would work well with bass heavy music, but I'm not sure about the model on your list.

First of all, thanks for all the help!

I settled for a pair of Philips Fidelio S2 which fits her perfect since she always found in-ears too intrusive in the ear channel. Also the open design does not really leak any more sound than any other pair of earphones.

if it is not final, then maybe you would want to check Dunu Titan1 or Fiio EX1? or higher Dunu Titan 3 and 5.

i am big fan of Fiio EX1 (appratently is the same as Dunu Titan 1) and Dunu Titan 3.

price is around 110-130$~ depending on reseller.
