Hi, I'm currently looking to purchase the Woo Audio WA8 and a pair of headphone to go with it. I don't have any experience with tube amps and I'm not quite sure of the importance of compatibility of the headphone and the tube amp. So far I am currently eyeing the Hifiman HE560 as I have tried the the Hifiman HE400i with the Woo Audio WA8 and loved it, but felt there was a tad bit too much sub-bass. I've heard the HE560 sounded similar to the HE400i but with less sub-bass so I have considered getting it but there is no demo model in my area for the HE560 specifically so I cannot listen to it myself and confirm. I am open to any recommendation for the headphone but I will have to stick with the WA8 for the amp because I really do need its transportability factor. I'd prefer a balanced sound signature and my budget would be at around $1000. Thanks!

I will try that! However I'll have to email them as I don't live in the US.

For me, I would get a nice pair of used HD800 to match it...

Please don't stick me in a fire for saying this but I actually don't like the HD800. I find the soundstage too wide for my taste and it's too harsh on the source.

I have to say you don't want what everyone else wants in most headphones. I'm not saying that is bad or anything . Most people get on this thread and want bass and wide soundstage . Sorry don't mean it as a slight just funny that's all. I agree you can get lost in the 800's sometimes. The WA8 is very nice for sure. I think the 400i's are about the only HE cans I have not heard so can't comment on them. It has been awhile since I gave the 560's a listen but found them fairly neutral and not too harsh if I remember correctly not for sure on the sub bass though. Sorry can't help more .
