A friend of mine knows I'm in to audio and every time he comes over he tells me how great my stereo setup sounds. One day he asked me for advice about getting some ht stuff for his new apartment. We had emails back and forth back and forth. I'd send him some options, he would ask a couple questions, and then send me links to products I hadn't suggested, all of which "look good." He sent me links to all kinds of random amazon crap with no reviews, products with horrible reviews, horrible products. After literally 3 weeks of this he finally admitted he didn't really care about the sound and just wanted something that would sound "better than his tv" and look good with his decor. He ended up getting some random craptastic micro satellite system (not Bose) that I wouldn't use even if somebody gave it to me for free. I was so disappointed… and don't #&$^% ask me for advice 25 times and then completely disregard it. I wasted so much time on this crap. I just can't even.

That reminds me of when I start chatting privately with random members here who happen to be less experienced, usually asking me for advice...and for some reason or another, they start giving me unsolicited advice that I either already knew years ago, don't care about, or is just flat-out wrong. XD

The worst part is he didn't even get you beer, unlike my friends who all go out for Cosmos (damn Sex and the City), dish out relationship advice, and then meet up a couple weeks later for the "I told you so!" chapter of the discussion.

With the boys, whether we listen or not, it always comes down to "get your rear over here! I got pizza (or steak) and beer let's toy around with this thing I just bought whoohoooo!" That includes people who end up buying a console after you explained how to build a PC and that you'd be there to help him put it together.
