Do you mean that impedance of the pxc is significantly elevated compared to the momentum and therefore more energy consuming? No experience here on the issue. Regarding pxc specs, not as many info as on momentum 2 wireless on Sean's site.

Yea, thats exactly what I mean. Figured it might be hard to drive the pxc with a cellphone and get a loud enough sound...

Those OHM ratings only apply to using a physical cable. This headphone is meant to be used in BT mode so unless your planning on doing a lot of listening through the cable I wouldn't worry about it.

And a final question. I am between the senns pxc 550 (more mobility features + easy use with touchpad) and the momentum 2 wireless (more quality and better-?-sound). I travel every day for about 1h30m and every 2 months I have 2 flights (6h on total plus airport waiting). Which would you go for if you were using a smartphone and no amp?

It seems the pxc would be very tough to drive with a smartphone, no?

Sensitivty is the spec you should be looking at, as well as impedance.

What does it mean for me, the average music lover (all sorts of music included eg. classic, rock, etc.), listening to mp3s or flacs through a smartphone (s7 edge), if i were to buy the 550s?

Thank you!

In this scenario - nothing. You'll be able to drive these with your smartphone just fine with your S7Edge.

My Note 7 was able to drive them flawlessly, either cabled or Bluetooth. Plenty of headroom for volume.

Got these for Rs.21120/-($315).Amazon India.
Previously was using the Soho wireless from Harman.
The sound is on a different plane, more 3d like with a theatre like experience, I hadn't heard  that with the Shure 840's or the Soho's I owned before. This is without any effects on.

The touchpad is way more responsive than the Soho's,with individual clicks heard as the volume level changes.
With ANC on,  couldn't hear wind noise. That is a plus point with these.
Call quality is good, the person at the other end did not comment what I was using,as with the Soho's, there was always sound volume level issues for the calling party.
So I'm a happy listener.

Hi
Can anyone explain why Sennheiser sells these PXC550 through Amazon and certain airports' duty free shops exclusively and not through wider retail local chains (Amazon being probably the widest retail but a virtual one).

I will be reviewing a loaner pair of these sometime im the next couple of weeks. Look forward to hearing how they compare to the Sony 100ABN and the QC35.

I would love to do that but am not sure I can afford to buy the 1000X just for the comparison. I will reach out to Sony and see if I can get a loaner pair but won't be holding my breath as they generally are unreceptive to this type of request in my experience.

Is burn-in applicable for Bluetooth cans? I'm hearing a different sound signature with these 550s after a couple of hours.

Burn in can happen with any headphone with moving drivers in my experience.

Well look what arrived today :).

To be clear, these are on loan to me from Sennheiser for the purposes of a review by me.

First blush, color me impressed...

I really like with their musical richness and detail. They have a airy quality without sounding to lean or sharp.

I will be honest I don't own many Sennheiser products as they have not always floated my boat. These may just buck that trend...

But enough early comments. Let me see how they handle the LRT tomorrow .
