Hello All,

I recently got an ATH-M50x, using it with my BB Passport i have the feeling that something is not right, both the Passport and the ATH-M50x are highly praised in terms of SQ yet pairing them together gives me the feeling that something is not right. for most i have to pump the Passport's volume to the Max to reach an OK level of volume but it sounds distorted and as if the Passport is struggling to drive the ATH-M50x's.

Was thinking of getting a portable AMP, a Fiio E12 but i need your help to know whether it'll help or not. problem is i have to buy everything online because non of the fancy audio accessories are sold locally so i have a bigger problem of not having the chance to experiment with various units to make an informed decision. so i'm putting all my faith in this brilliant community.

To help you a bit, i mostly listen to my music at home, all my music library is in FLAC, type of music i listen to is mostly, Classical, Instrumentals, House, Trance and Rock. and i favor Clear and Sparkle Audio over warmth.

i Also have an iPhone 5s, an iPad Mini 3 and a Sony NWZ-Z1050 (which are doing a better job driving the ATH-M50x in terms of Amplification) but i favor the Passport's dark sound signature as i don't want to carry more than one device unless i really really have to.

What do you guys think? Cheers and thanks allot.
