Tonight I made a light 5 ft. cable for my Elears using an old HD600 cable and plugs I ordered from plusSound Audio.  This should hold me over for a while until I order something better.  Doing some quick comparisons with the stock cable, I couldn't hear any drastic differences.

I also have a $16 cable on the way that I think will also work; it might be a good inexpensive or short-term options for those not wanting to go the DIY route.

Looks great! I'm planning to make my own cable in the not too distant future. If it's not too much trouble, could you please post a photo of those connectors plugged into the Elear? I'm super interested in how far they stick out. Thanks!

Here's a picture as requested.  Measuring it, the shaft of the plug only sticks out about 1/16".  Also, the plug is easy to solder.  I would highly recommend it for any DIY Elear cables, though to be fair I haven't tried the Eidolic plug to know how it compares.

For those interested, I'm referring to the - plusSound 3.5mm Extended Connector: http://www.plussoundaudio.com/diy/connectors.html

As promised, here's a lightweight $16 to $20 cable for your Elear, available from Amazon Prime.  It's available in 1.2m (for $16), 1.5m (for $17), 1.8m (for $18), and 2.5m (for $20).  I went with the 1.5m and received it today.  It works & sounds great!  I have been using the same brand cable with my Sennheiser HD650's for a couple months now.

Even if you're buying a boutique cable for your Elear, this might hold you over until your order arrives.  Order soon though since there are only a few of each size left in stock at Amazon.
