Hello reader,
I'm searching for a headphone with impactful controlled bass, ample soundstaging, great imaging, and decent bright qualities. I've compressed my search to the HD650/HD700. Although excellent qualities, such is demonstrated with powerful amping that I'm doubtful my Xonar Essence STX can provide. Should I take such caution or my amp is decent quality to power either headphone? Furthermore, if any other headphone with similar characteristics that I described initially whose price is less than 500, or is worthy of 550~, should be recommended would be great contribution to my final decision. If it helps, I listen to a lot of alternative music such as M83. Besides that, rock/metal songs compromise most of my listening (Red Hot Chili Peppers or System of a Down), and downtempo (EDM but just "chill" like Kygo)
Thank you for investing your time by providing aid to my search, have a good day.

Have you considered HD600 and HE-400i? It seems one of those could work for you, too.

I've considered the HD600 but dropped such from my search after determining they may not be sufficiently impact full in regards to the bass. Is that a false statement or should the HD600 work significantly better on my system?

You can always plug headphones directly into the STX's headphone jack, for now.
But later on get an external headphone amplifier and connect it to the STX's line-output (RCA) jacks.
Like a Crackhead w/speed ball.
Sometimes Massdrop offers the Darkvoice 336 for a good price.

The STX's can not send it's Dolby Headphone surround sound thru the RCA jacks, but you have no need for surround sound for music audio.
