They are much similar to the QC25 externally. Beautiful all black finish.
The audio cable is thinner and shorter than the QC25's and it is labeled as a "back-up audio cable" in the manual. It has a 2.5mm plug on the headphones' end and a 3.5mm on the other end. Bose seems to believe that the primary use of these will be wireless. We'll see.
The battery came totally depleted (yes, no more AA batteries) so it is still charging.
There's a Bose Connect app for your smartphone and it is supposed to use NFC to detect the headphones.
I'll come back with more details later. Here are some pictures:

Just got in touch with my local store and put in an order for a black pair!

Won't be getting them until the 15th unfortunately (Australia).

Keen to hear what you think about them! Fingers crossed that they were able to improve their already best-in-class noise cancelling.,

This looks cool! I owned a QC15 for years and think it's underrated. Very colored sound, no doubt, but also very enjoyable. Pro tip that not many know about: you can dramatically improve the sound by using a conventional headphone cable instead of the proprietary stock cables that have electronics on them which interfere with the sound.

I'll have to try out the cable upgrade idea. I like that it's 3.5 to 3.5. The QC 25 I had for a bit had a bit of a hollow resonance to it that lead me away from it. In the NR mode it was reduced, but I'd actually preferred the sonic signature of it, without NR. If these manage to boost bass and air a bit at lower levels it might be a great innovation, encouraging us to listen lower, since often when folks will crank cans up, it's to get that extra bass and treble vibe.  Bose Sound True II were far better than version 1. Much better bass and non-resonant mids, but lacking in highs (where the version 1 had a bit too much, and lacked in bass). Should this pair fix the resonance issue of the QC 25 and offer more bass in NR mode, they could really have a winner. I know that I'll try a pair soon.

A few more comments on my experience with the QC15: A normal cable just falls out when you put it in there. At first, I devised an intricate twist tie mechanism to keep it in place. Hilarious stuff that only worked half the time. Then I had the sense to try wrapping toilet paper around the connector shell. That did the trick. Another thing that a normal cable does is switch the left-right channels. This is due to the active circuitry of the headphones that interfaces with the proprietary stock cables. I can't say how the newer models will be with all this. But a normal headphone cable can actually cost less than the stock cables.

So I picked up my first Bose headphones...the QC35 and man am I Impressed with the sound, the noise cancellation, and it looks like the battery is going to last a looong time...

Works great with 2 phones simultaneously and is ok on phone calls as well...

Any chance you can comment on whether there is a marked improvement in noise cancelling over the QC25?

Currently have the 25's with me and waiting on the 35's to be delivered.

Yes, the battery really lasts a long time... There's a voice, that tells you how much battery is left when you turn it on. It kept saying 100% for a while.

I could not A/B (I had returned my 25s a week ago) but I thought it was a bit better. I wouldn't say marked improvement though.

The QC35 is a 2.5 to 3.5 cable. But there are no electronics in the cable so the replacement idea does not apply here. Now I got to try that "mod" with my QC15 pair.
Again I didn't A/B, but I felt the bass more powerful in the QC35 than in the QC25. I am with you in the hollow resonance of the QC25, I think there is still a little bit of it in the QC35. In terms of overall sound signature I think I prefer the QC15. But I will use them for a while before I make a statement.

When you compared the SoundTrues, are you talking about the more recent versions? I have 3 pairs of AE2 (before the SoundTrue) on my studio and I love them but I think they could use a bit more bass. Now you're making me consider upgrading.

Just saw this on CNET -- I'll be curious to hear your impressions.

You should post this in the Portable Headphones, Earphones and In-Ear Monitors forum, however...

Thanks! That was my first post, so the forum didn't let me post there. :)

I'm enjoying them so far. I've had the QC2, QC15, QC25 (for a brief period of time) and QC35 now. I'm impressed by the Bluetooth sound, I'm not usually a fan of wireless headphones, I only use them for movies, not for music. But these ones... I just wore them all the time yesterday in airports and planes, listening to wireless music. The pairing is easy with the app and the NFC features. I use an iPhone and and iPad all the time.

As for the sound, I think I would prefer a bit less bass, more definition. But they are still burning in, so hopefully this will settle down some. Sound stage is good. I can't say I have been swept away by these headphones but I think they are keepers.

They undoubtedly look awesome, but I'm not sure if I travel often enough to justify $350 on headphones. (you can see in my signature what I already have at home, and those are all great)

But there's no doubt that airplane noise makes me crank up the volume to levels louder than I'd like, hence the attraction to ANC.

I'm wondering if the introduction of QC35 will make the price drop at all on QC25. Otherwise, I may try to get refurbished QC25s.

What is it about the QC15 you prefer vs. the QC25?  Sound True did replace the AE2. It added a bit of bass but the highs were a bit harsh. The new Sound True II (out in the last 6 months) is more comfortable, better bass, but the highs are not a bit dull and the sound is a bit enclosed sounding, but it didn't have that hollow resonance, like QC25.

Do these headphones support AptX or AAC codecs?  If not, I'm surprised that Bose would be releasing high-end headphones in 2016 that didn't (unless they concluded that these codecs really don't add value).

Edit:  My Amazon package arrived this evening and I can confirm these do in fact support the AAC codec, even though they don't seem to publicize it.  No AptX though.
