I have a MSI Z97 Gaming 9 AC motherboard. It has a USB-Power-Audio system on two USB3.0 ports beneath the LAN-connection to deliver a stable 5V.
Although I read that DAC's have issues with USB3.0. Schiit even recommend not using them.
I also have 2x USB2.0 connections (that could handle 1000hrz polling rate) on the rear of my motherboard.
What is wise to do? Connect the Wyrd to the USB 3.0 (with USB Power Audio System) or connect it do a USB 2.0 port?
Does it matter if you power-up twice? (I mean the motherboard (USB power Audio USB3.0 system) and wyrd together)

Thank you in advance

I'd just go usb2 > wyrd > DAC.

No point wasting those juicy USB 3 ports, and USB 3 controllers (the reason usb 3 is not suggested for DACs) were never really good for much beyond fast transfers.

I did mail Schiit and the response was that I could do both. USB 3.0 or 2.0. Preferably the special powered USB 3.0 they said. It might be beneficial. Thanks for your response though.
