Hi

I'm after some recommendations for closed headphones. I currently have Beyer COP's.

I may get a small amp down the track, but assume that for the time being I will have no amp - I'd be running straight from my PC or Macbook Pro (occassionly iPhone also).

I've been looking at the Audeze EL-8 (closed) and seems that the newer 2016 models are significantly better than the older? They seem easy enough to drive without an amp also?

Happy to pay up to that range.

What else should I consider?

I don't know if you have checked out the Beyer DT1770 pro. They are amazing. Basically, well-balanced with some emphasis on base, great sound stage, transparent, clear, maybe a little darker than some. Leakage is nonexistent. All around fun IMHO. I would pick Beyer over the B&WP7 for clarity. They definitely benefit from dac/amp. But you could pick up the DT1770 and the a200p for close to the EL-8.

There was also a lot of buzz about the Meze99 and Sine at SoCal CanJam..
