I'm considering buying the W30 to replace my now-dead W3, but many people are complaining that the new MMCX connectors are loose and causes issues. Is this a common issue with the new MMCX connectors on the W series?

I think it's more of an issue with MMCX connectors in general. It probably depends on how often you disconnect them. The difference is that the pin is on the IEM housing kind of like a very small laptop power cable/connector. With it being so small in comparison it can be somewhat delicate.
