May have answered my own question---just read jj's post on trying to get his R3 going.

We can try, I don't know how simple it'll because setting mine up was part help from Eric and part luck that took several hours but we got it going. Just don't want you to get your hopes up since I've never used Apple systems and it'd be foreign waters to a degree. Of course knowing a thing or two with Windows and how much of a pita it's is, it'll probably be hiccup free on a Mac

gefski I don't know if you saw the daisy chaining post I put above but I'll bring a standard length coax and maybe a 25ft one as well if anyone close by wants to try plugging in. My dac has a coax pass through. Not sure what the spdif are capable of doing in cable run lengths so I'll bring short and long.

It will be great just to tap in. I've got some coax along also. Looks like setting my OS X up could be too challenging at a meet.
