Hello
normal_smile .gif
I'm looking for an amp + DAC to be connected to my Desktop PC in order to connect 2.1 speakers and headphones AKG K702, I'm still a novice, you have any suggestions? I wanted to buy a sound card (Asus Essence STX II) to be integrated into the PC, but do not know whether to choose an integrated or external solution

Thanks to all in advance

Might help to know the uses?
Music or movies or FPS gaming or other?

Did you have a budget for this audio setup?

lower cost option.
Get a used Asus Xonar DX sound card, comes with a nice CS4398 DAC chip (buy used).
and a Bravo Ocean headphone amplifier, comes with pre-outputs, for use with your 2.1 speakers.

But nothing wrong with getting an Asus Xonar Essence STX II.

Fairly novice myself, but I own the AKG q701s (which I believe are very similar to yours) and I have had great results with a lot of Fiio products. A cheap solution for the amp could be the fiio e12 mont blanc, which gave me plenty of power (and is portable), or the k5 which is a desktop amp which I now use, and absolutely love. I have it teamed up with the fiio x3 as the DAC, but I used to use the e17, which is a cheap but very well received dac + amp, only it's not powerful enough to boost the k70X to their full potential.
Long and the short, I would definitely recommend either the fiio e12 or k5, teamed up with the e17 for the external dac, which will make for a very synergistic coupling.

If you go the k5, it teamed up with the X3 is particularly neat, if that doesn't go a tad bit over budget.

the budget I have no problem prefix that initial threshold but the important thing is that I would buy a product that is valid to which can also connect my computer desktop speakers, and if the K702 are already a little cold and linear sound like I would add with the amplifier some warmth. I was told that the Matrix M-Audio Stage HPA-3U is a good choice

Thank you
