Has someone used the Microsoft Surface Pro as a source ?

With ROON installed on it, the V4 with 1Tb version could be the ultimate source when attached to a HUGO or another portable DAC ?  . . . as long as the USB-out is clean of jitter and sound good.

This should pair well with a DAVE since the DAVE is supposed to be immune to source's jitter ?

Bumping an old thread.

Im also curious to know what it sounds like by itself. Im currently waiting on the surface pro 5 to release as i sold off my desktop and dap.

Transportable music server and computer in one.
Although i dont like the hugo much the combination shows the potential for future setups. Be gone static desktop rigs.

If you do not like the HUGO, then you could use a WooAudio WA8 which i liked even more than the HUGO.

See my review of  " USB Tablet PC + WA8"  in my signature.

Version 5 of the Surface Pro available NOW.

With 1 Tb and enough processing power to run ROON Core, it can become a real transportable music server !!!
