Fascinating. Here's my pair of 99 Classics:
Wow. Mine do not have that.
Why do you think I said what I said.
Fascinating. Here's my pair of 99 Classics:
Oh, because 99Neo treble feels a tad more energetic than 99Classics by default
This makes me wonder if it changes sound in any way, or it is there to protect the driver
Nope. The exact opposite.
Hm... Interesting
I gotta do more tests.
Until now, it seemed to me like 99 Neo are a bit more energetic in the treble, but it has only been a few listening hours and there's many variables I have to get out before being sure.
I guess I'll have to do the blindfolded test method to be sure
Considering what you do to the treble in EQ, I just assume your perspective has gone so far askew, up is down, and down is cheese.
Which pads do you use? I now have the Brainwavz leather pads on them, and they are more comfortable, but my ears still touch the drivers(big ears). The sound is a little bit better with the original pads(more lower mids), because you're closer to the driver etc, but I can't have painful ears all day. If Meze in the future makes a bigger headphone with pads like the Senn hd 800 or Audioquest Nighthawk, I'm buying instantly, but whe'll see.
I'm actually using 99C original big pads and they work out well for me. I'm trying to get my ppaws on a brainwawvz HM5 but didn't get to yet
Still, 99C original big pads are plenty comfy for me after I got used to them. I also wish they would make bigger pads as I'm a fan of huge pads since my ears are big as well. I think that I simply got used to Meze fit.
Dj1P that I used before has larger pads, but the ear is touching the inside from time to time, depending on ear size. On 99C, this doesn't happen yet
