Even being a hater towards Bose products, I do like their bose mie2i headphones. After having them for 5 years and them starting to look like crap with almost bare wires my wife got me a new bose mie2i (but the ones that don't have iphone control, so I guess is it IE2?)
 
Anyway, in terms of sounc, they don't sound the same. New set sounds a bit too boomy and lacking detail (mids/high). The jack color is gold, not silver like my originals.
 
Anyway, how do I know that they are fake or not? She got them on Ebay. Do they need time to break in maybe?
The 2 things they say to check all checked well (rubbery jack ending, 3 digit number on left headphone)
