Back in the 1970s, long hair was popular with men. By the 1980s, short hair was back in style. However, not every guy was brave enough to wear the serious looking short hair.

So the compromise was the mullet. With the mullet, you had the long hair of the 70s mixed with the newer hair of the 80s. It was a transitional period of long hair going to short hair.

And of course, some people viewed the mullet as a compromise of being socially accepted among the people of the formal business world and the people of the rebellious anti establishment. The short hair in the front showed that you were a responsible citizen at the office or classroom.

The long hair showed that you were still hip to the rebellion of rock music and you still remembered your roots of being hip and you were not against partying on the weekends and showed that your weren't too square for society.

Hair is superficial and it's what is inside that counts.

Remember too.....

If you wish the locks you lack, grow your nose hairs long and comb them back.
