I would like to read more impressions against the original vali with a decent variety of cans, Examples would be lower sub 32 ohm cans, mid impedance cans with a non-linear curve across the spectrum like the senn hd5xx series, and high impedance cans up to 600 ohms and up.

Today I was going to buy the Modi 2 + Magni 2 Uber then I seen this and now I don't know what to buy... Vali 2 vs Magni 2 Uber. I got the AKG M220, AKG K553, AKG K7XX, Audio Technica ATH-AD900X. I got the Sennheiser HD 598 SE, and the Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250 LE are under the tree x-miss.

I recently bought a Vali 2++ from the Schitt Audio store in Santa Clarita. It's paired with an upgraded 1st generation Bitfrost multibit fed using USB from a laptop.
I would like to try tube rolling to see if there is any sound improvement and have a question about adapters.
(The sound quality of the included tube was good to begin with.)
The tubes I selected to try have either good posted measurements in terms of noise floor or are recommended on the forums or in reviews.

Basically I am looking at a couple of variations of the 6922 and the 7DJ8.
I've read you need an ECC88 to 6N3/5670 adapter for the 6922. That makes sense if the new stock tube is a 6N3P. I can't tell from looking at it. The only label on the tube is OTKA.
Would the same adapter to work for the 7DJ8? I tried to insert a 7DJ8 directly into the Vali 2++ socket and since it did not immediately light up, I pulled it out quickly for fear of damaging it.
