Dnun8086 thanks for the info on the music boost reset.
I have had mine for a week now.
So far I love it.
At 1st I was listening to it with my HD380 pro, just sitting not moving around.
Then I thought I would go for a walk. Thats when it happened.
The sound dropped out of the right ear, I wiggled the jack around & got it back to stereo but then then it went in the left, the it started playing in the phone speaker.
I tried different headphones to no avail same result every time.
but resetting it solved the problem so far.

Just checking if all is OK now? - Cheers Robert

Hopefully you are all aware that the MusicBOOST now supports the iPhone 6s as well as the original 6? Look for the sticker on the box.

This is what noted specialist Hi-Fi Magazine "Hi-Fi Choice UK" said recently.

Marked improvement
For those who use an iPhone more out of necessity than for its audio quality, the MusicBOOST brings welcome relief. In a nutshell, it converts the iPhone’s mediocre (at best) musical performance into a true audio experience, and for that it should be applauded. Add to this its t-and-forget nature – which ensures you never need be without it when on the move – and the MusicBOOST stands out as an almost essential buy for iPhone 6 users craving better quality sounds

Check out these words from APPLE WORLD USA. A totally independent review by someone with ears.
So how does the MusicBOOST improve sound quality? Quite a bit. The audio from an iPhone is good, but the sound quality of most mobile devices (the iPad Pro being the exception) is compromised by build budget, battery life requirements, space constraints and interference from the radio and digital components of the phone. The Arcam peripheral extracts pure digital audio from the iPhone Lightning Port, feeding it via a Texas Instruments internal DAC, then amplifying it with a headphone amp.

The sound quality improvement is noticeable even when using the so-so earpods that come with the iPhone. Plug in some higher end earphones or headphones, however, and you’ll really hear the difference. If an app can play audio, the MusicBOOST will upgrade it, including music from Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, SoundCloud YouTube, FLAC Player, and more.

Both the lows and highs were enhanced, with bass frequencies having more impact and extension. There’s more richness and warmth to the overall sound. What’s more, the MusicBOOST delivers about 15% extra volume with no audible distortion at any level.

More great words on the Arcam MusicBOOST

I spent a lot of time listening to Rock, Jazz and Classical over the course of a few weeks using the Music Boost and I can say that it really did sound superior to the iPhone alone. Through the Music Boost, music had better dimensionality, tighter bass and smoother treble. The soundstage in my head was noticeably wider and deeper. A-B comparisons demonstrated that the improvement in sound was not subtle either. My wife and son auditioned it to and commented on how much better the sound was through the Music Boost.

I should have my opinion on the MusicBOOST up this week (or early next). I'm one of those in the half-good, half-bad camp. Overall, I dig the signature, which reminds me of the iPhone 4s.

you mean: Right now! :D

is anybody else getting the extra hiss when using sensitive iem's or headphones with the Arcam Musicboost ??

I have the 6s version for my iphone 6s, but I have a feeling my old Shure iem's are too sensitive at 119dB, I just don't get anything like as much hiss when the Shure E500's are plugged directly into the iphone 6s 3.5mm headphone output

Hi all,

First post after years of lurking around. Should receivy Arcam Musicboost for 6s this week. Will use it with Final Audio Heaven VI. Used to have IBasso DX90. Am not expecting that sound quality but it should be a significant improvent of Iphone 6s. Will also subscribe to Qobuz again for some good old cd quality streaming.

Use the Musicboost with the 'CanOpener' app & you'll be surprised at the quality you can squeeze out of your phone.

It hisses way more than it should.
