Yep...Jan's probably the best way to go ..especially for international shipments and price....stock is still short in Canada.

Here's a sweet deal from Amazon...but no a

ship to Canada>

On that Amazon listing, it says "Minor cosmetic imperfection on front of item (less than 1/4"x1/4"). Minor cosmetic imperfection on top or sides of item (less than 1/4"x1/4"). Minor cosmetic imperfection on bottom or back of item (less than 1/2"x1/2"). Missing Power cord. Item will come in original packaging. Packaging may be damaged."

Don't know what they mean by missing power cord. If it's missing the cable(s) that's really not a good deal. With tax here it would come out to $1370 as well, would definitely spend the $20 extra to get a new pair from Jan instead.

Please stay away from this deal. This one in particular is missing one of the cables (not sure which one). It's funny that you mention this, I actually just purchased a pair of HD800 S from Amazon warehouse deals in "like new" condition for $1,455.00 (including taxes). I received the package today and was super excited, but my excitement quickly turned into disappointment when I opened the box and realized they had sent me a pair of regular HD800.

To make matters worse, I was not aware that many of the Amazon warehouse deals are refurbs. When I called them, they transfered me to a specific customer service department which specifically deals with items purchased through the Warehouse deals section. The customer service reps from this particular department do not have the same "power" to make decisions as the reps you would normally interact with, when you buy something new. Just to add fuel to the fire, they sent me a return label and they deducted over $10 dollars for the return shipping even though it was an error on their part.

I have bought many items from the warehouse deals section and have been pleased, but after the experience I had today, I will never touch them again. I always used to wonder why the rating for the warehouse deals marketplace was only around 80%?  We'll, today I found the answer lol. The quality control and "inspection" process used by them, leaves a lot to be desired. If you need further proof, read some of their negative reviews before you click that "buy" button. Best of luck!

On top of currency conversion puts it close to 1950 not including any taxes, duties, transport fees. Still premium at 2195 can dollars from an domestic authorized dealer, but them is ones choices. I waited for Boxing Day sales and picked it up at 1900 so hifiheadphon.ca got my biz.

Wow, some of you guys payed less than $1300 at Jan Meier? I had to pay him 1500 euro for mine.

Oh well, still better than the standard price of 1650 euro in Denmark.

Still... after taxes we're looking at $2480.35....like to support Canadian dealers but a $500 savings is hard to resist if not hit with duty and taxes which they usually are not (hopefully).

Pffff this hotspot man.

Done A LOT of modifications. Had the pain disappear for a couple days without modifications even. But unfortunately it's clearly not gonna go away... So I'll be selling my HD800S on eBay or Headfi.

Any UK users keep a look out - they'll be going for a good price.

I'm in the UK and looking for a pair of HD800S headphones. What modifications have you done to them?

Hi mate I'm still gonna try a few more things before putting them up for sale. No permanent mods would be made. These things get treated like gold, and I wouldn't risk damaging them.

I'll be sure to inbox you if they go on sale.

What kind of "pain" are you experiencing with the S?  Keep it, buy a Feliks Audio Elise and you'll be in heaven. No pain here for sure

Lol lads this is not a sound pain it's a fit pain. I tend to get hotspots at the top of my head with a lot of headphones.

Oh so sorry. I have a cone head and the fit of HD800S is not perfect, but I have adjusted to it. Too bad we can't modify our heads )))

Could anyone share one's setup with HD800S? I currently use Mac Retina 15 + OPPO HA-2 with HD-800S. It drives HD-800S well and I have no complaints. But that may be because I have not experienced higher grade DAC/AMPs. I am thinking about a significant upgrade of DAC/AMPs from OPPO HA-2. Does anyone have some recommendations?

As I like listening to music mainly on one of my sofas or my spin bike, I gave up all my desktop gear in favour of an AK music player.
I have to add that I am one of the guys who was always chasing that elusive last bit of audio bliss, my setup now lets me forget about that and I just enjoy the music.
My simple audio chain is RWAK120 into either ALO CDM, ALO International or Ray Samuel's SR71b and then balanced into HD800s.
Still, I have a hankering to try out another top amp but I know that I will get used to the sound of it and will be asking myself "can there be more"?
So , gladly I have broken that vicious and expensive circle and could settle on my final simple rig and just listen to the music.
By the way, I prefer the ALO CDM with the HD800s.....usually for a few days and then I swap with one of the other two balanced portable amps....thats my circle now!
