LG-V10 Hi-Fi audio quality review on serious audio performance

sorry to ask as it seems that only T mobile has root am I right ?

Seems that way based on what I've read here and on xda. I know they're working on it for Verizon and think I saw some sort of fund raiser for an ATT root.

I have T-mobile but no plan to root mine. Gonna try the Neko hack with some other apps instead of using V4a.

I do not experience any of this with mine, maybe you have a defectiveone, almost look like the issue you would have with a bad ground .

My unit  is the international with dual sim(h961n) and  my current headphone are vmoda crossfade m-100.

I still use neutron player, but did change some of the setting, maybe you should try some different setting, like forcing 32 bit audio and see if there any improvement.

I've tried a few different music apps and the stock player still sounds best (imo; the Neko trick hasn't worked for me so far). Bass isn't lacking any more on the V10 (I feel it actually has a bit more) than it does on my other daps. I don't use EQ so amount of bass depends on the headphone. Iems of course will be different but overall sound from the stock player is amazing especially coming from a phone. Very detailed, spacious, and dynamic. As far as the dryness and other issues you mentioned, exactly which daps alone are close to the Mojo soundwise?

Heard that Neutron plans to add ability to use the V10's dac soon but I wouldn't trust using the current version to gauge the V10. So far, only the stock player is 100% confirmed by all to be using the ESS hardware. Even with the dac off, the stock player doesn't sound any worse than other phones using the Snapdragon so, I agree, it shouldn't sound horrible unless something is really wrong.

You probably already did the following so pls ignore if redundant:

Recommend checking to make sure the V10's dac is really on (the HIFI icon can be misleading: just means the amp is on but doesn't necessarily mean the dac is in use). V10 only prompts you about the dac the first time you plug headphones in. After that it goes auto on/off (unless you switch it off manually).

Make sure its off then plug-in. I usually open the settings screen to watch it switch on. Then open the stock player and try it. If it still sounds terrible after testing with a couple different headphones/iems and cables then I think returning it (or exchanging it) seems logical.

Tried my etymotic 4p adapter with my er4s iem ,akg 701 and sony mdr-1rncmk2 and the high impedance mode is triggered .Also using the adapter with other iem will trigger the high impedance mode as well. on a separate note ,will it also use up more battery?lol

What headphones do you have and what adapter are you using?

With an extender I can trigger the external device mode, but not the high gain...

Haven't tried it myself yet but a few already confirmed this adapter works:

Also if you already have any headphones over 50 ohms, try plugging them into the extender first the connect the other end of the extender to the V10. It should go to high impedance. Then you can disconnect those headphones from the extender and plug in a different pair with the V10 staying in high mode. I did this with my PM-3 and a couple others.

If you have a volume adapter such as the one that comes with the SE535 it will work to trigger high Impedance mode. I had already discussed that earlier with a picture to prove it , but i guess people have missed it.

So from everything I've read here it seems like the problem is with the Android OS and it will be corrected in Marshmallow. It can also be worked around by app developers who are interested enough to do it. Is that a fair summary?

LG is absolutely silent about future updates. We can only hope, that's the summary.

The update for the v10 will come in jan/Feb. I just want a good update, no rush from my end.
