So last night, wile my wife was bitching at me for spending so much money on my brand new ps500e's I said listen to them and you'll understand. Well that was a mistake. Now she wants a pair. She listened to a bunch of songs Zep, Cheap Trick, etc. And couldnt  believe the sounds she was hearing. She said holy ****. Now I understand.

Now I'm not a good sharer with certain thing, and these Grado's are on the list. Her birthday is next week so I was thinking of getting her a pair of less expensive Grado's. She doesn't have the ear I have, and isn't into listening as much as I do, so would the 80, 125, 225's be good enough? I know they won't compare to the 500's so i'll just never let her here them again. What would be a good choice for a once in a wile listener?

Thanks

I think the SR-80 is a great place to start because to me it sounds almost identical to the others but costs much less. You might want to make sure that she gets the comfy pads and not the bowl pads, unless she would prefer those of course. The comfy pads, I find, are more comfortable for longer listening sessions and bring a bit more bass to the picture.

It would also be awesome to give us a comparison between whatever she ends up with and your headphones.

When you say comfy pads do we mean the g pads?

I meant the S-cushion pads.
