This is an interesting phenomenon. Any psych students here? Write a paper about this. Mass disbelief: like mob rule, but with more wishful thinking.
I think everyone who posted in this thread knows that it isn't going to happen, but they post and hope anyway, thinking subconsciously that if a critical mass of desperate hopefulness is reached, God (or a Sony executive -- or is there even a difference) will have pity and bestow upon the common man that to which he is rightly entitled -- a cheap CD3000.

I don't know if I follow Minya's analysis exactly, but it's certainly easier to take him seriously than the rest of the posters in this very unusual thread.

I don't think that's what it is. Let's suppose for a second that by some miracle we could get a reasonable price on these in the $250 range, you'd be a fool not to get in on it. It's more for the peace of mind really, if you sign up and the deal goes through you'll end up with a nice pair of headphones, if you do not sign up and the deal still goes through then you'll be ripping your hair on your head because you missed such a great deal. So is the peace of mind worth posting a few lines here? I think yes.

Well let's do the math, how many members we have so far???
BTW please don't keep on increasing the price, the lower we set the initial starting point, the lower the price could be at the end, let's begin with 200.00 or so, to see.......if my math is not that bad, we are already about 50 or more members, I strongly doubt they will get a bigger order from any other dealer (or even some of them together...)

Well not exactly, this have worked in the past, with other manufacturers, and I don't see any valid reason of why necesarily has to fail now. I know that is hard to deal with a big company like Sony, but we could try, if you do not try, we never know for sure. BTW IIRC there was a member that used to work for Sony here, not sure who was, maybe he or she could give us an starting point of whom to contact first.......
