I'm currently in the market for an over-ear closed headphone for use at the office, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I was hoping you could provide me with some input and advice.

Since I have finally found my ideal open headphone in the HD 700, I'm specifically looking for something that comes close to the HD 700 frequency curve (well defined bass without being over-emphasised, a bit more emphasis in the highs, non-fatiguing) and is comfortable to wear for longer durations (up to 4 hours). My budget is about $500 to $600.

If it helps, I already own a set of original Momentums and a set of Amperiors. I find the Momentums to be too dark and bass-heavy for my taste, which makes them fatiguing to me. I find the Amperiors to be far more enjoyable, but since they are on-ear, they can get a bit uncomfortable during longer listening sessions.

So far I've auditioned the Fostex TH600 (too bass heavy) and the SRH1540 (great build quality, very comfortable and spacious, but a bloated bass). I considered the Oppo PM-3, but for some reason they are far more expensive in Europe; €530, which I find too much for headphones with non-removable pads.

Are there headphones I'm overlooking? Thank you all in advance for your time, suggestions and advice.:)

There's the new beyerdynamic dt1770.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, mindbomb.

The DT1770 actually went completely under my radar; I somehow completely missed its release. Given the first things I've read, they definitely sound like headphones I should add to my shortlist.

Try the T70 especially if you don't like bass heavy headphones
