I have ordered mine (except the Angies cable) at Surf Cables. I live in the Netherlands. Prices are very reasonable in my opinion, included the shipping costs.
Cables are varying between 115 and 140 $, shipping 18 $.
I have the Oppo version for three weeks now and ordered the HD800 and HE-1000 versions today.

Sorry. I was answering as if this was a response to my message.
I did not read carefully enough. Excuses to Matrix Petka and TheOneInYellow.
Still have a lot of forum skills to learn.

Reasonable price for real. Thank you for advice!

Wow! It looks that your cables are singing like angels even without connection to any source :) Wondering if somebody is making such great cables here in Europe?

I'm sorry, I can't tell if this was a compliment, or a negative comment...

All my Double Helix Cables are used with sources.
I used to use NuForce Icon, which is now used with my John Blue JB3 speakers or connected to my SubPac S2 for gaming/video use (using either Xbox One or PS4).
For music I used to use iPod Classic 160GB connected to CEntrance HiFi-M8.
I also had on a long term demo iFi Audio Retro Stereo 50, but eventually returned that back, and went back to iPod + HiFi-M8.

Currently I now use Onkyo DP-X1 predominantly for all music listening.
So any headphones I use are connected to the DP-X1 via Double Helix Cables:

  • Molecule Elite Fusion 4-Wire balanced cable for Audeze EL-8 Titanium
  • Molecule Symbiote SP Fusion 8-Wire balanced for Heir Audio 4.Ai IEM's
  • Molecule Prototype copper single-ended only for AKG K 712 headphones

Each one is used with my DP-X1, with the first two used in balanced mode.

My new EL-8 cable, Molecule Elite 22 OCC Silver Litz 4-Wire balanced, will also be used with DP-X1.

When the Cavalli Audio Carbon amp arrives around September, I'll have a unique setup:

  • Onkyo DP-X1 in Active Control Ground mode, max volume (unity gain, or 0 dB). This is my primary source
  • DHC Molecule Elite 22 OCC Silver Litz 2.5 mm to dual 3-Pin XLR interconnect. This will connect DP-X1 into...
  • Cavalli Audio Carbon amp
  • DHC ultrashort 2.5 mm to 4-Pin XLR adapter, to use my balanced headphone cables that end in 2.5 mm Eidolic jacks
  • Any 2.5 mm balanced DHC cable I use with two of my the major headphones, or
  • AKG K 712 headphones but with 6.3 mm jack to Cavalli Audio Carbon amp

I also hope that the Cavalli Audio Carbon amp can have multiple active headphone outputs; this is so that I can use my headphones direct into the amp, and one connection direct to my SubPac S2 seatback tactile bass system.

Maybe you can download my pictures from this link: https://we.tl/UokCxYhBQz
1 picture is the clamp i used to join the DP-X1 and the T3. Link will be accessible for 1 week.

I normally don't download zips, but I'll download this one, do a virus check, then check out your setup.

Would you like me to post your pics on your behalf (mentioning you of course)?

On behalf of hansgw, here is his monstrous storage solution consisting of a Samsung T3 2 Tb SSD plus 2x 200 GB MicroSDXC cards for his DP-X1!

Oh, and hansgw, how about a pic showing the actual storage your DP-X1 displays? ;)

i had just strapped my new very small and lightweighted Samsung T3 to the back of my Dignis covered DP-X1.
I didn't try out every aspect at that time, but i know more now than i did then!
Now i have a very handsome portable DAP with 2 x 200GB SD cards and 2TB SSD! I found a simple way to strap them together without anything blocking the screen, damaging the cover or falling apart.
Yes, your not the only one that wants to carry around his complete HR collection...

Looking at the T3 now. Very cool. I need to decide, though, between that and the Oppo HA-2 I am using. Hmmmm....
Thanks for the tip though - really cool.

Jeez - now we need USB OTG hubs? zoiks  ;-pp
