ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

Went to a couple of Yodobashi Camera stores (including their flagship in Akihabara) and E-Earphone, and I was told that the Onkyo and Pioneer DAPs were recalled due to an issue. They didn't elaborate any further regarding the recall, or any restock information. Quite a bummer, since I'm really eager to try both players out. I've also heard that there is an Onkyo event tomorrow (21st)? Any information about that? Thanks in advance.

From what I heard, the Onkyo DP-X1 launch is delayed to 28th Nov due to a software bug they found during last minute stress test.

The balanced output measurements from the DP-X1 really are quite spectacular, the best measuring dap I've seen :O Although measurements after the point of inaudibility aren't exactly important, it is still an impressive feat of circuit design, it's better than ak380 hehe.

Exactly...
I will change my headphone cable to get the most out of that balanced out.

Thanks, bro. Well, I guess that explains it. What a shame, since I was very eager to try both players out, especially the Onkyo.

28th? I hope you are right, I'm biting my nails looking at this super tight window of opportunity.

The JPY 64,900 pre-order base price on pricejapan seems to be lowest available right now.

The expected retail price is supposed to be JPY 69,800 while the pre-order prices on rakuten.co.jp are currently currently JPY 75,380.

For those familiar with the Japanese retail market, would you expect the price to drop much on rakuten after official release? Is the pricejapan price so good just because it's a pre-order promotion?

I see that the Sony ZX2 hasn't changed much in price on rakuten since it's launch. But I think Sony keeps its retail prices artificially high. Can we expect Onkyo to do the same?

Just trying to figure out whether now is a good time to put an order in.

The retail price is up to the seller, not Sony or whoever; however, the companies are not obligated to sell so if there is a deep discounter and they get caught, the line can be pulled. The retail prices are suggested. If you want to see who will sell for the least e-mail the various sellers asking for their best price as they can't publically advertise discounts in most cases, but privately they may be more flexible.

It's better than the ak100 / zx100 / dx90 / dx80 / cayin n5 definitely .
Refine type of sound , punchy bass slam , fun.

There's quite a few ppl that tested . All gave the thumbs up which speaks a lot. Onkyo should be better since it's dual dac.

Ciem used rooth ls4 .

Is it true the launch is delayed to early December? My parents went to Yodobashi Osaka and they got confirmation from the Akiba store that it won't be next week.

What did you listen with? Wonder how multi BA IEMs will be handled, if the impedance curve will nerf the treble as seems to happen all too often.
