You got to pay for it more what you would like to. It is 30% more the cost of the first version. I guess it is over 1K?!
Ive seen something like this happen a few years ago where they gave you the option and gave a discount which I would happily do if the jacks are more robust.

DP-X1A is 85,000 yen which is about 820 USD.
It's definitely more expensive than their previous DP-X1 (620 USD).
It could be that some poor international sellers on Ebay will try to charge more than $1,000 USD.
They do this until Onkyo settles down on US Amazon.com.
I hope the compact DP-X1 is much cheaper... $300? would be excellent.
The new Pioneer XDP-300R is 72,000 yen (700 USD).

That makes the biggest problem, allowing some crazy Japan & Hongkong sellers to charge $1000+ on this on Ebay....
I bet Amazon USA will take DP-X1A for $910... $100 more than actual Japanese retail price ($820).

I don't have any Empire Ears IEMs (yet) but I have 64Audio U3's that get a lot of hiss from one of my full size amps and are perfectly quiet on the DP-X1. I don't think you'd have a problem.

Thanks. You noticing much difference between the outputs except for volume? SE sounds pretty good to me. Not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of getting my cable reterminated.

The only change is internal storage upgrade to 64gb
most probably otherwise is ridiculous to release new device with only upgrade the storage
