Hey guys,
My dad's friend is giving a bunch of stuff away because he's moving, and he ended up giving me a pair of fully functioning, original, white Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble speakers. Well, actually I'm not sure if they are speakers or sub woofers. I'm new to the speaker world and I have never heard of these and there doesn't seem to be much about them on the web from recent years. I was wondering if these are still considered really good, as they once were? If they are, what would I need to get them up and running? All I got with the two speakers was an AC adapter.

Here's are some pictures of them:

Thanks!

Those appear to be the woofers. They are supposed to have additional matched satellites to go with them from what I can tell (see pic): http://www.audioasylumtrader.com/ca/listing/Speakers-Monitor/Henry-Kloss-Cambridge-Soundworks/Original-Ensemble/Best-version-of-the-4-piece-system/48658

Since you have the woofers, maybe you might find the satellites for cheap on Ebay or somewhere. You would need the matching satellites, not just any small speakers, as these are likely designed to integrate with satellites with a specific frequency response.

AC adapter? Those speakers look to be passive, based upon the pictures. What does the AC adapter go with? Is it an amplifier for them? If not, they some kind of amp or receiver to power them.
