Thanks Moedawg.

On second thought, the recommended adapter may just be for a regular 2.5 plug, not the skinnier A&K type. In this case, I would contact Ted Allen, as he can make a 2.5 balanced to 3.5 adapter for you for a pretty fair price. Recommended and fastest way to customize to your liking is to email teds headfood here: tedallen0220@gmail.com. Hope this helps!

Is the balanced out a rumor or is it already in the pipeline?

So I'm checking out of an I so I'm checking out of an Ibiza hotel when the receptionist points at my QP1R and asks "what is that? Is it an iPod?"

So I reply "I'm glad you asked"

"This is the world's greatest music player, the Questyle QP1R".

Of course she doesn't know the difference so I figure I'll fake it and see what happens. I just so happen to have Stevie Wonder "Don't You Worry Bout A Thing" queued up which also happens to have some Spanish in the intro and I'm also burning in a new pair of Hifiman Edition S, so I give them to her and wait for the appropriate response, which in this case was wide open eyes, mouth forming the word "wow", and mind blown. The receptionist next to her wanted to know what the deal was so I gave the story, then gave her the headphones so she could freak out too.

Their combined reaction was slightly more than I anticipated so I put the Edition S back on to see what the fuss was about. I don't know if it was the QP1R, the headphones, or the song but things were sounding pretty damn good. Hifiman rocked on the Edition S..........

The HIFIMAN Edition S sounded pretty terrible to my ears with the covers on, but, with them off...pretty good sounding to my ears. Hopefully I will be able to review them in the future...

Great story! :beerchug:

Press center button while add playlist (plus icon) is chosen/illuminated, and you will arrive at the "Playlist" screen.  When you add a track for the first time, you will only see "New Playlist".

How do you choose/illuminate the playlist?

How do you choose/illuminate the playlist?

Use the capacitive buttons or wheel to choose/illuminate the playlist (which is the plus icon).

Full instructions are right above what you quoted me at the Toolbar options from the "Now Playing" screen subsection of (Q32) Play settings.

What specifically do you mean?

I mean is a QP1R with balanced out coming?

I may've caused some confusion.  The SE cord for my Angies got damaged-by me-and I was looking for an adaptor so I could substitute my supplied balanced cord until I can afford the moon audio upgrade.  And Moe was helping out.
I, for one, spent a good chunk o' change on the 1r, and I hope it is superseeded a long time in the future.  With all the parts =-matching Dr. Jason did in designing the QP, I'd shudder to think what it would be like to come up with a balanced version.

For headfi the advantage of balanced is more power. However I don't see the need for more power with the QP1R. It drives my 600ohm T1 very well at 40-45/60 volume. It still puzzles me how it does that with its published spec of 40mW@32ohms. From experience the T1 needs around 1W. Of course I don't expect the T1 to sound as good as with my WA6SE but I haven't heard the T1 as good with aNY other portable DAP than the QP1R.
