Two per side, I presume. Does the tuning kit come with enough pads to do this?

It comes with 4 black pads and 2 white pads. So there are 4 variations you can do (no pads, 1 black pad, 1 white pad & 2 black pads) Thats in order of warmth and bass slam I think you will notice too. I preferred white though single black pad was also really good too.

Yup, two black per side. Two black is less than white but slightly more than one black.

The perceived flatness might be from the drop at 100Hz to about 150Hz. If this was smoother and continued to 500Hz it would probably sound more 'full'. Some EQ can easily adjust for this.

:/ here's @purrin read of the HE 4, I feel this better represents how the headphone REALLY sounds, I've got Wood Cups an Beyer DT 880 pads as well, the Beyer Adds really bring out the Mids [they sig angled an rather close to my ears] an the wood cups add just a smidge of decay into the mids. Enough that I really enjoy it

A better question is do we even have a reading for the Ether C posted yet Dx

I do not have the chance to listen to these unfortunately as I live in New Zealand which has limited choice.
I am after a closed back as I need good noise isolation ( lots of noisy birds and cicada as well as some traffic at my home ). I have previously owned the lcd xc which I enjoyed apart from a pesky upper mid on my pair which I found quite uncomfortable at high volume.
Having not listened to them my concern along with many others here is the bass. Whilst not being a complete basshead I do love good solid bass. Can anyone give me a comparison between the ether c and the lcd xc

You can listen to them at the national headphone meet :)

This may sound totally insane, and might actually be illegal in some parts. You can also use a black and a white, as well as try a black, a white and a black, which gives you Oreo sound.

I'm pleased to announce that as of today ETHER C is in stock.  When large distributor orders come in we may experience brief shipping delays, but normal turnaround should now be on the order of 1-2 work days.  Thanks to everyone for their patience while we worked through our backlog!

So I have the Woo WA6SE here at work and it drives the Ether C beautifully. However, I was thinking about freeing up some desk space at the office with the WA6 and taking the WA6SE home. Would the WA6 be enough power to drive these guys sufficiently??

Man, I wish I had a video of your talk at Can Jam London, I'm trying to keep my business partners from selling out to the big boys but i think they're going to cave in.

Listening to Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Live at Luther College, Stream - noticing that Dave/Tim's' guitar pickup(s) must've been taxed to all hell from the fast and furious strumming hahah! I don't think the pickup could keep up with them, but the ETHER C was definitely able to reveal limits being reached. Pretty intense!
