Just got a set of Ety er-4pt via their great out of warranty program. Listening to them now and debating keeping them and adding an aftermarket mic/remote cable vs exchanging for a pair of hf3 instead. The er4 sound very good so far, but the iPhone control is big for me since 99% of my use will be on the go with my iPhone 6. Also, the stock cable is longer than I'd like for stuffing in a pocket. Source is either FLAC or 320k Spotify streaming.
Got me wondering about trying other IEMs. Been using Etys for years and years and I really like the tri-flange tip. I still own a pair of mc5 that have been daily drivers. I can hear the difference with er4, but it's not like the mc s are awful - same Ety sound and isolation but a little more muddied.
Wondering if anyone has had good results using Ety tri flange tips with other IEMs. Would be curious to try something else just for fun, but I know I want the isolation I get from these tips.
Thanks in advance.
