I am looking for some headphones for live mixing/recording. I am studying sound design/audio production and would like some quality headphones to help with my studies. I would like them to be closed and have a removable cable. Also would like them to be under $200.

NVX XPT100 is pretty neutral, and at $100. Soundmagic HP150 is a little bit v-shaped if I remember correctly, but a great choice. @cel4145 has a pair for sale at $135 http://www.head-fi.org/t/776309/soundmagic-hp150 - which is a great deal. Also, the AKG K553 from Massdrop might be a great choice. The K550 really impressed me for its neutrality and openness, though perhaps a little on the analytical side. The K553 should be just about neutral... no removeable cable, but AKG has great build quality and recabling should be really easy to get done should the need arise.

This is all assuming you'd like them to be neutral, of course. What are you running them out of, pc?
