With the demise of the Sansa Clip Zip and the Sansa Sport and Jazz not being Rockboxable I wonder what's the best sounding player for the least money right now?

Thanks folks.

If Rockbox is a priority then the Sansa Clip Zip is very difficult to replace. Almost impossible at that price.
If Rockbox isn't a priority and you can do with a simple UI that works, the xDuoo X2 is a worthy contender at ~50$. Solid build, very powerful and can drive a broader range of gear than the Clip.

Another vote for the Xduoo X2. It could be a fantastic player if they update the software to allow better shuffling and to fix the weird locking issue.

Another player with a lot of sound value is the Colorfly C3.  It has the same lousy firmware problems as the Xduoo, but has a beautiful organic sound to it.
