* Requirements for Isolation - A lot of isolation and as little leak as possible
* Preferred Type of Headphone - On-Ear goes around ears and Comfortable for long periods of time
* Preferred tonal balance - Idk really what i want. Is there a way to figure out your preference without trying headphones? But if i were to guess Clear highs and strong Lows.

* Preferred Music - Mostly Electronic (Tropical, Melodic, House, Deep House, Future House) then Indie/Garage Rock, Indie Pop, Rap, Hip Hop.
* Overall usage - Mostly Listening to music at home and outside in public quite environments and Gaming.
* What would you like to improve on from your set-up - I'm giving my m40x away.Im pretty happy with it i just want to know if theres a better option or if i should buy it again or get the m50x?
* Location - Canada
I want as immersing an experience as possible.
I'm open to the idea of buying used headphones.

Onkyo ES-FC300 fit your description and price range. The bass is accentuated but well controlled. The mids are clear offering detailed vocals. There is a small dip in the lower mids. The transition to highs is very good. The highs are detailed but forgiving. They offer unusual good layering and depth for on-ear headphones. The cups are big almost over ear, soft and comfortable.

M-Audio Q40 would be my recommendation. Nice, impactful bass with great mids and highs. Perfect for electronic and Rap/Hip-Hop music.

I bought a pair of sennheyser momentum on-ear phones on a whim, on amazon for under $70 -- yeah but they're green -- which seems to be a blowout price.  but I don't have them yet.  the reason I mention them is that seems like a good price and some people liked them.  I haven't listened to enough headphones to give review advice, when I get them all I could do is compare them to the sony mdrv6s I had, maybe.  but, they're there for that price, whatever that's worth.

My big issue with headphones that isolate well is that they make my ears overheat with extended use.. That is why when I want isolation, I use an IEM(in the ear isolating earphone). Did you get uncomfortably hot ears with the M40X? When I am walking around outside I use earphones with ear clips that don't isolate and keep the volume low, as it is dangerous to be walking through traffic and not be able to hear the surroundings.

See if you can find a cheap SoundMAGIC HP100 or HP150.  If you have money left over, slap on some Shure 1540 Alcatara pads for extra comfort.

The ATH-M50x's are a pretty well-balanced. The bass doesn't bleed, the mids sound nice, and the highs don't overpower anything and are clear. I don't know if it's relevant, but they're also portable. Another pair I would recommend would be the V-MODA Crossfade LP2's. These ones focus more on the bass. Once again, the bass doesn't bleed into the mids and highs, but also doesn't boom. Also, sound clarity is amazing. Both headphones will play Electronic, Rap, Hip Hop, and Rock very well, but I think the ATH-M50x's will be better for your Pop. Another thing to mention: neither pair will leak a lot of audio. (They'll leak if you're blasting your music at 100%, however) All-in-all, I think that these are pretty good value, especially since they have top-tier monitor quality at a, relatively, low price.
