It's now summer and people are celebrating the beach and warm weather. They even light fireworks to celebrate this season. But every year, guys lose their hands from fireworks. So think clearly and be careful.

I'm guessing you saw the news reports of the NFL players that lost fingers on the 4th.

Then there is this Darwin Award candidate:

Well every year, guys are blowing off their hands in celebration of summer. I think that other guy got beheaded from the fireworks he lit from his head.

I find fireworks to be a huge waste of money, or at least the way that people spend on them. We have neighbors making the equivalent of $12 a day and they buy huge belts of explosives (called a "sawa," the local word for "python") worth around $25 each for NYE. News coverage here are just gruesome, www.rotten.com-worthy displays of fireworks injuries, or people who got shot by absolute douchebags who fire live rounds into the air.

This is probably the best balance between "get the point across" and "oh my effing God why did you post that" (you don't want to see what they looked like before the bandages)

Just to give everyone an idea on how much money is spent trying to scare off evil and bad luck with gun powder, check out this vid - note that it repeats at a smaller scale one month later for the Lunar New Year. www.elitereaders.com/wild-metro-manila-new-years-eve-celebration-fireworks-display/

Here in Germany fireworks are only sold on the 30th and 31st of December and only legal to be blown up on the 31st of December and the 1st of January (except for special permissions for anniversaries and celebrations, but they have to be permitted in advance and there has to be a professional pyrotechnician blowing them up).

I feel sorry for the innocent people around that may get hurt due to others being careless.

True, but there are still many passages with speed limits and plenty with road repair work forcing you to slow down.
