Did you use them at all with the Balancing Act in your sig?  I tried with with my modded Super 7 and thought it drove them well.  BA is probably even better.

i did not get a chance to try the HE1000 on my eddie current BA. i use my headroom amp with my computer and i tend to use that set up most of the time.

I just received the Nighthawk today, 11/16/2015.

Just picked up the AudioQuest Nighthawk today (27NOV2015) and omgsh these are beautiful! Huge props to the person who had them before me for they took the UP MOST care in packaging them. Check out my unboxing video to see for yourselves.
 
 

But alas, my time with the AudioQuest Nighthawk's have came to an end. I've rather enjoyed this week and cannot thank @Todd & TTVJ Audio enough for allowing this. But I have received the next in lines contact information and will mail them out tomorrow morning/early afternoon.

I've finally got around to posting my review, albeit short, on the HE-1000, in order to fulfill my review obligation.  Thanks again to Todd for making this opportunity available and the patience to work through the challenges.

Yay! 

The HE-1000 have arrived safely. Shame this is turning out to be the busiest possible week for me to demo these, but I'll try to get as much listening time as possible.
 
Initial out of box impressions:
 
-Packaging and presentation is slightly underwhelming for a TotL flagship.
-Cable is fine, I like that the balanced cable is super long. I love the mini plugs, very easy to connect in and out of headphones.
-Headphones themselves are very striking and gorgeous in person. My favorite looking Hifiman by far.
-Extremely Comfortable, most comfortable Hifiman by far.
-They feel quite solid, though one of the cups squeaks loudly when rotating. If this was my personal pair, I'd send them back for exchange as I feel that would be unacceptable for a 3K   headphone. Even my $400 Fostex TH-X00 uses self lubricating washers that are silky smooth...come on, hifiman. 
-After 30 minutes of listening I think they sound very nice...to me they sound more like electrostatic headphones. Very euphonic, musical and tactile. I plan on doing a lot of A/B with my HD 800, which I still slightly prefer.
 
I'll put up more in depth review in a couple of weeks.
